Yes, client software is available for our system, so you can watch it on your Windows PC.
  • Can I have additional screens and displays showing footage?
Yes, you can have many additional display screens wherever you require. Each screen can display different cameras.

  • How do I see my cameras on my phone or tablet?
Via a free App we’ll help you set up. Please note, an internet connection is required onsite and wherever your mobile device is located. Android and iOS Apps are available.
  • Can I rewind footage when looking at it on my phone or tablet?
Yes, with our CSI Remote App, you can view live and recorded footage remotely.
  • Why are cameras different shapes?
The location and position of a camera will determine the best housing (shape of the camera) to be used. For example, a bullet camera may be better with direct sunlight whereas a dome camera in a low position may be best to use in that location, given its vandal-resistant qualities.
  • What are the camera specifications?
Camera specifications are constantly evolving and improving. Please discuss the specifics of your system with your CSI Consultant.
  • Are your cameras high definition (HD)?
    Yes, they are.

  • Is an 8MP Camera twice as good as a 4MP camera?
Not necessarily. We can show you 2MP cameras with superior image quality to 4MP and 8MP cameras. Megapixels (MP) are not the only determinant of image quality. Lens quality, processing chip and tuning of settings of components within a camera are major factors in the image quality you’ll experience. Our CSI consultant can explain this to you during a meeting.
  • Do your cameras do Facial Recognition?
Yes, responsible facial detection is an available option on some cameras. Please discuss your requirements with a CSI Consultant.

  • What happens when the hard disc drive is full?
The CCTV system will automatically delete the oldest recording and continue to record.

  • What is HDD monitoring and why do I need it?
We remotely monitor your hard disc drive (HDD) performance so we can alert you to any issues which may have occurred, e.g. power surge corrupting the HDD. This is exceptionally important as live images will still be visible on your monitor even if the system has stopped recording due to a HDD fault. By being proactive, we ensure you’re always made aware if your system is not fully functioning.

Because changes to both the hardware and software of our cameras and controllers are so frequent, it’s challenging to publish current specifications data on our website. If you require technical details and specifications, please ask your CSI consultant.
  • Do I need an I.T. Department to manage the CCTV system?
No, we can support and maintain the system for you. By design, our CCTV system has an open platform with options for external integration, bandwidth management, security features, remote configuration, and other extensive control options. However, your I.T. Department can control and configure the system if you prefer.
  • How do I know if the system is recording correctly?
We proactively monitor your CCTV system and automatically advise you if your system is not recording to the hard disc drive.
  • What is Automated System Monitoring?
It’s pointless installing a CCTV system if you don’t have the footage of an incident when you need it. Typically, our industry advises customers to manually check if it’s recording at the start and end of each day. We believe this is a time-wasting procedure and highly unreliable. Our systems are provided with hard disc drive monitoring. We automatically advise you if the system has a hard disc drive issue. For example, we’ll CSI Assistant you if a staff member turns your CCTV off, because the hard disc drive would not have responded to our proactive checks.
  • Do I need to buy a monitor?
No, our installations include the supply of a monitor at the controller.
  • What is a UPS, and do I need one?
